Why Christmas?

As most of us know, Christmas is biggest day of the year. More people are stressed to fulfill a year long obligation to give the best gift ever. If this is the best time of year, why do most of us put ourselves in debt to make someone else rich while we struggle going into the next year. As God remains faithful in sustaining us, we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot fulfilling a unattainable fulfillment of joy in one day.

Remember opening your gift as a child? A gift you waited for all year to get? Once Christ has passed, new year's come and spring approaches, that gift has lost its significance as you look forward to Christmas all over again. Well think about being the giver and it seems like your gifts are never enough. It seems like nothing is big enough, strong enough and seems you cannot never others happy. Well, that's what Christmas is all about. Why Christmas? Why not everyday, do something special like kiss your child and encourage them. Eat together, pray together, laugh together, watch movies together, read together, learn together, scratch each others back, taking time to die for another.

Christmas is a selfish reminder of why most of us do not do kind things throughout the year. The pressures of corporate establishments to spend your to make them rich, is sometimes unbearable. We are exposed to marketing strategies that through a loop in our plans and keep us focused on meaningless celebrations. Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas and I must include "Black Friday." There is nothing wrong with experiencing holiday socialism, being able to meet people, getting out and being festive, but let's not loose focus of our purpose to have life and life more abundantly. Jesus said, His yoke is easy and His burdens are light. So why are the burdens of His celebrations so burdensome. Anyway, I can explain all day of the truth behind every holiday we observe, but many of us won't listen or don't want to listen. We are afraid of the truth and afraid of change.

Why Christmas? May be we need to feel American or good enough to be blessed by God. I don't know, but what I do know is that I will no longer be controlled by marketing events that takes from me and never gives back. My hope is in God no matter what man's truth is. I do my best to be Christ-Like (Jesus) everday to make sure that I am blessed year round by God. I believe that if I give with a good heart, to God first, my returns will be and are eternal. My hope is in my children's success and principle I teach them by being more involved in their lives and not focused on being worldly like. I hate this world's attitude, but there are so many beautiful things I enjoy about it, but those things cannot be bought. God Bless.

December 25 is the birth of Tammuz (the son of Nimrod and Samaramis) and this date was chosen before the time of Christ. So what does everyone accept this date for Christmas and celebrate it as the time for the birth of the Messiah? Every country in the world! Even communist countries accept this date. It's not because they are worshiping the true Christ, they are adoring the A/C.
